North Midland Building Ltd has throughout its history worked for the Ministry of Defence, with one of its first ever contracts being at the Mildenhall base in Suffolk. The defence works have involved a variety of design and construct projects at MOD bases up and down the country, examples being:-

	Air Traffic Control Tower and Surface Finishing Facilities on Anglesey at the Mona and Valley bases respectively – valued at some £6.0 million. Both these projects involved complicated design and high serviced solutions undertaken in relatively remote locations.
	Replacement of Hangar Doors – RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire – a relatively small contract to demolish and dispose of existing hangar doors and replacement of tracks, drainage and installation of new hangar doors.
	Amenity Block, RAF Cosford, Birmingham – new build sports facility of lounge bars, changing room and associated facilities.
	Headquarters Building, RAF Boulmer, Alnwick – a new build headquarters building with offices, guard room with extensive external works with security gating.
